The Sacred Grove was an incredible experience! What a beautiful and wonderful place to be.

The Boys and I in the Sacred Grove

Me in the Sacred Grove

The Back view of the Smith Family's first log cabin in Palymra. It was tiny for 11 people to live in.

This is part of the fence the Smith boys built around the Smith family property. Quite amazing!

On the phone with Tom. What can I say I kind of miss him. I only talked for a minute or two!:)

The fireplace in the home Alvin built just before he died. The plates were at one point hidden beneath the bricks here by Joseph Smith to be kept from the mobs or others finding them.

This farm is in between the Sacred Grove and the home Alvin built where the Smith's lived for a short time. It was built by Brigham Young's father. It was huge! It is completely authentic.

This is the Cooper shop built by the Smith family. It is where barrels were made.

This is a picture inside of the Cooper shop. The golden plates were once hidden below the floor boards, but angel Moroni told Joseph Smith he needed to move them. That night he moved them to the top floor of this shop and hours later a mob tore up the entire bottom floor looking for the golden plates. Little did they know, they were just overhead.

The Palmyra temple sits across from the Sacred Grove. You can see it here on the short walk from the first Smith log cabin home to the home that Alvin built. It was a beauitful sight to behold!!

Here is the family on our tour of the Smith farm. Just behind us is the Smith log cabin home, and in front of us is the barn and the home that Alvin built. To the left is the temple and to the right is the Sacred Grove.

The home that Alvin built for his bride-to-be just months before he died.

The kitchen of the home Alvin built, where Martin Harris would have told Joseph Smith of the loss of the 116 pages. If you don't know the entire story of this home, and what happened to the Smith family, you should read about it. It is very interesting. They were basically cheated out of this home.

This is me standing in front of the printing press owned by a man named Grandin. The first 5000 copies of the Book of Mormon were printed here. You would not believe the work and effort it took to print just one copy of the Book of Mormon. It also took a great amount of persuasion and effort to get Grandin to print it here. Also the story of how he decided to purchase the new and expensive printing press that made the printing possible. Another amazing story you should look into. Grandin never joined the church.

Mom, Daddy, Seth, and Bryan in front of the Book of Mormon printing sight.

The front view of the Smith family log cabin on the Smith family farm.

The biggest room on the bottom floor of the Smith family log cabin.

The room on the top floor of the Smith family cabin where the Angel Moroni would have appeared to Joseph Smith. It was absolutely incredible to stand in that room and to look out at the Sacred Grove just across the way from the window.
Looking at the Sacred Grove.
